Susan Collins’ Office Vandalized with ‘BLOOD on her HANDS’ Graffiti Day Before Election

Just hours before Election Day, the Maine Senate office of Republican Senator Susan Collins was targeted for the second time in a month, with vandals dumping red paint and scrawling the ominous message “BLOOD on her HANDS” on the sidewalk. This latest act of vandalism, which follows a previous incident in September where her office door was spray-painted with vulgarity, has been described as “disturbing” by Collins’ chief of staff, who stated that such intimidation tactics are “not effective” and that staff remain “undeterred.” The Biddeford office’s proximity to the site of a fatal July officer-involved shooting of a Colombian national by ICE has previously drawn protesters to the location. While Collins’ challenger, former Democratic state Senator Troy Jackson, has condemned both incidents, citing that “vandalism and intimidation are wrong, full stop,” the ongoing investigation by Biddeford police highlights a tense pre-election climate marked by aggressive political expression.
