A retired NYPD officer, Rodolfo Mienert, 68, has been arrested in St. Petersburg, Florida, after allegedly posting a violent threat on Facebook directed at a Pinellas County Commissioner who voted to approve the expansion of a local mosque. Mienert, using the username “Rudy MineAllmine” with a profile picture of Bugs Bunny holding a revolver and a bio stating “…if I pissed off a libtard today, I’m happy!! no further reply!!”, commented on a post criticizing Commissioner Brian Scott for supporting the land-use change for the North Pinellas mosque. The affidavit details that Mienert called Scott a “Republican turncoat” before issuing the chilling phrase, “off with his head!”. Detectives traced the IP address to Mienert, who admitted the account was his and confirmed his vocal stance on political issues, stating he escaped New York for Florida to avoid such developments and expressed concerns about the mosque’s environmental impact and traffic. He was subsequently arrested and charged with a felony count of making a written or electronic threat to kill, an offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison, highlighting the Pinellas County Sheriff’s commitment to strictly enforcing laws against such threats.
