While the world speculates on the next James Bond, Prime Video’s critically acclaimed action-thriller series is redefining the spy genre with a compelling “anti-James Bond” narrative. Starring Riz Ahmed, the show, slated for 2026, offers a fresh and subversive take on espionage, proving that audiences might already have their perfect candidate for a new kind of super-spy. This series is a masterclass in subverting expectations, presenting a protagonist who challenges the traditional suave, infallible image of 007, instead delving into the complexities and moral ambiguities of modern espionage. With A-list talent and a narrative that intelligently plays with the legacy of iconic spy figures, this show is poised to become one of the most talked-about releases of 2026, yet it’s surprisingly flying under the radar.
