U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended Roberts Nemiro, a Latvian national and former contestant on the Latvian version of “Dancing with the Stars,” in San Francisco. Authorities revealed that Nemiro overstayed his visa, which expired in August 2012 after he entered the U.S. in October 2011, and possesses a disturbing criminal record. His history includes convictions for aggravated assault with a firearm, sexual battery, and drug-related offenses, along with arrests for battery and possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. ICE Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated that Nemiro, described as a “career criminal,” is now in removal proceedings and will be deported, highlighting the arrest as a success in enforcing immigration laws despite California’s sanctuary policies.
