An X-ray scan at LaGuardia Airport took an unexpected turn when TSA officers flagged a checked bag due to an anomaly with a passenger’s Xbox. Upon closer inspection in the checked baggage resolution area, Supervisory Transportation Security Officer Christopher Ramos discovered a plastic bag containing several fraudulent driver’s licenses concealed directly beside the gaming console. Ramos noted that while the dates of birth and license classes varied, all the fake IDs featured the same photograph. This discovery led to the involvement of TSA management, airport officials, and Port Authority police, who confirmed the IDs were fraudulent and subsequently arrested the passenger just before his scheduled departure. TSA LGA Federal Security Director John Essig commended Officer Ramos for his diligence and situational awareness, emphasizing the crucial role of identifying fraudulent documents in maintaining airport security and protecting the traveling public.
