A Florida woman, identified as Samantha Adams, 39, is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly drugging a 69-year-old man she met on a dating app, with authorities dubbing her the ‘Black Widow.’ The relationship, described by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd as being for ‘paid sex,’ lasted for two to three months after meeting online, with Adams using the alias ‘Nala.’ The alleged murder attempt occurred after an argument over a vehicle the victim had purchased for Adams. She invited him to his home to discuss the matter, where she reportedly slipped him benzodiazepine in a shot of whiskey. Following the drugging, Adams demanded $1,000 from the victim, and when he couldn’t pay, she left. Shortly after, the victim began feeling ill while driving to pick up his granddaughter, eventually becoming unconscious and requiring Narcan at the hospital for a suspected overdose. Medical tests revealed benzodiazepine poisoning, metabolic encephalopathy, dehydration, and acute kidney injury. This incident follows a pattern, as the victim reported experiencing similar drowsiness after previous encounters with Adams, including an earlier incident where he fell asleep at the wheel after leaving her home. During the arrest, authorities found a significant amount of prescription medication in Adams’ vehicle, including hydrocodone, oxycodone, Zoloft, Adderall, and Xanax. She is also facing charges for resisting an officer, offering prostitution, tampering with evidence, and multiple drug-related offenses.
