In a startling display of wildlife’s raw power, a Yellowstone National Park driver found his pickup truck violently rammed by a massive bull bison after he stopped to avoid a collision. Kyle Weber, a seasonal mechanic, was driving near Mud Volcano in the pre-dawn hours when he encountered the bison obstructing the roadway. Opting for caution, Weber braked his Ford Ranger and waited for the animal to move, but instead of passing, the bison unexpectedly charged, slamming into the front-left side of the truck with significant force. The impact, described by Weber as ‘pretty rough,’ jolted the vehicle backward and left visible damage to the bumper and hood, though he plans to keep the dent as a memento of the intense encounter. This incident echoes previous warnings about the unpredictable nature of bison in Yellowstone, following a separate, more severe attack where a grandfather was seriously injured after being charged and launched by another bull bison while reportedly protecting his grandson.
