A California high school football coach, identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Pribble, a physical education teacher with 22 years in the district and five years as varsity head coach at Tracy High School, was arrested Friday after students made a disturbing discovery: a cellphone secretly recording them while they were changing in the campus locker room. The students found the phone, stopped the recording, deleted the video, and handed it over to a teacher, leading a concerned parent to contact the Tracy Police Department. Detectives quickly identified Pribble as the owner of the device. The Tracy Unified School District has placed Pribble on administrative leave pending the outcomes of both the criminal and district investigations, with school officials emphasizing their commitment to student safety and high professional standards, and the police chief commending the students for coming forward and reaffirming the department’s priority to protect students’ safety and privacy.
