Shocking video footage from inside an Ohio courthouse captures the moment a newly sentenced inmate, Timothy J. Reaggle, 20, violently broke free from his handcuffs, assaulted two deputies, and made a desperate dash for freedom. The incident unfolded shortly after Reaggle learned he would serve a year in prison for a prior conviction. The dramatic sequence shows a deputy escorting Reaggle down a hallway when the inmate suddenly slips his restraints and delivers a punch to the deputy. Reaggle then sprints away, crashing into a second deputy and knocking him to the ground before sliding down a set of steps and racing towards the building’s exit. His escape attempt was ultimately thwarted near the front doors when deputies subdued him with a Taser. Both injured deputies, who sustained broken bones, have since been released from the hospital. Reaggle, who had pleaded guilty to charges including aggravated burglary and assault, now faces potential new charges of assault on a police officer and felony escape. He is currently being held at the Columbiana County Jail awaiting transport to state prison.
