Guggenheim Museum Confirms Legionnaires’ Bacteria Presence

The iconic Guggenheim Museum in New York City has tested positive for the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, becoming one of 31 buildings on Manhattan’s Upper East Side required to clean and disinfect their cooling towers amid an ongoing outbreak that has sickened over 50 people. While the museum states there is no additional action needed and poses no risk to visitors, the source of the outbreak, which can cause a severe form of pneumonia, remains under investigation.
