Patricia Krentcil, famously known as ‘Tan Mom,’ has come forward with an astonishing claim that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents nearly detained her, mistaking her for an undocumented immigrant because of her notoriously deep tan. During an appearance on the “Light. Tan. Up.” podcast, Krentcil recounted the unsettling encounter where ICE agents allegedly stopped her as she was leaving a restaurant with friends, questioning her American citizenship. She stated that the agents were on the verge of handcuffing her and taking her away due to her extreme bronzed complexion, which has been a subject of media attention for over a decade. Krentcil expressed her fear of being transported to an unknown location, describing the incident as ‘terrifying’ and alleging discriminatory behavior by immigration authorities based on skin color and nationality. The incident, which Krentcil did not specify the exact time or location of, adds another layer to her public persona, which first gained notoriety in 2012 when she faced child endangerment charges for allegedly taking her young daughter to a tanning salon, charges that were later dropped.
