A private jet carrying nine individuals experienced a catastrophic failure and crashed into a residential neighborhood in South Florida on Sunday afternoon, erupting in a massive fireball approximately nine miles from former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the incident occurred near Cresthaven, Florida, around 12:50 p.m. local time. The aircraft had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was en route to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Video footage circulating on social media vividly captured the aircraft’s rapid descent before impacting the ground, resulting in a significant explosion and plume of smoke and flames. Flight tracking data indicated the Learjet reached a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet before initiating a steep, right-hand descent near Naples, Florida. Emergency services have secured the area, closing off Military Trail and warning the public to stay clear due to the ongoing nature of the incident. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint investigation, with the NTSB taking the lead in determining the cause of the crash.
