Mom faces death penalty in Great Wolf Lodge slayings of husband and toddler

A mother accused of brutally murdering her husband and young son at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania could face the death penalty, according to a private investigator. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is in custody after allegedly using kitchen knives to kill Charles “Chaz” Harrison, 36, and their 3-year-old son, Tristan. Private investigator Rod Devine suggests that the premeditated nature of the killings, coupled with the murder of a child under 12, could meet the criteria for capital punishment in Pennsylvania. However, Devine also notes that while the death penalty is on the books, executions have been halted in the state for over a decade due to a gubernatorial moratorium, and defense strategies often focus on mitigating circumstances like mental illness. Harrison’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 3rd.
