Prosecutors may have a crucial piece of evidence to prove a New Jersey teenager, Vincent Battiloro, 18, intentionally murdered two 17-year-old girls, Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas, who were riding an e-bike, with his own dashcam footage allegedly capturing him turning around to follow them before speeding at up to 70 mph on a residential street and striking them from behind. The attorney for Niotis’ family, Brent Bramnick, stated that this recording is paramount to establishing Battiloro’s intent, moving beyond mere traffic violations like speeding and reckless driving, to prove the act was not an accident but a deliberate act of murder, a claim supported by the victim’s mother who alleged Battiloro had been stalking her daughter for months prior, even reporting him to the police, though no action was taken due to his juvenile status at the time. Battiloro, who fled the scene and later appeared on a livestream complaining about ‘false allegations,’ was initially released by police after claiming he was carjacked, but was arrested months later after investigators reviewed the dashcam footage, leading to his indictment on two counts of first-degree murder, with his arraignment scheduled for October 27th.
