LinkedIn Co-Founder’s Epstein Ties Fuel Democratic Ad Blitz Weaponizing Sex Trafficker’s Files

Billionaire Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, has emerged as a significant financial force behind a new wave of Democratic attack ads, channeling substantial donations to the House Majority PAC (HMP) that are now being used to target Republican candidates by weaponizing the files of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. HMP has ramped up its spending in the crucial weeks leading up to Election Day, focusing its messaging on Republicans’ perceived failures to ensure transparency regarding Epstein’s child sex trafficking activities and his alleged facilitation of illegal sexual encounters for others. While FEC filings do not specify which donor funds fuel particular advertisements, Hoffman’s contribution coincided with HMP’s intensified focus on Epstein-themed campaigns, including ads targeting Rep. Nick Begich, R-Alaska, for his initial vote against a procedural motion to advance the Epstein Files Transparency Act, legislation that ultimately passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. The ad campaign against Begich, costing over $543,000, directly links him to Epstein’s alleged cover-up, stating, “How did Jeffrey Epstein hide it? He was protected by the elites — elites like Nick Begich. Begich voted against releasing the Epstein Files, trying to hide the truth.” This strategy is being deployed across multiple battleground states, with HMP spending millions in districts in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. The infusion of funds from Hoffman, who has a documented history of correspondence, gift exchanges, and fundraising with Epstein, including visits to Epstein’s private island and New York residence, has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans. The RNC spokesperson, Natalie Baldassarre, decried the Democrats’ acceptance of Hoffman’s donations, stating, “Democrats have no problem with money in politics so long as it benefits their own campaign, even if it comes from certified perverts like Reid Hoffman who maintained a relationship with Epstein after his conviction.” Hoffman has previously expressed regret for his continued association with Epstein after his 2008 conviction, acknowledging his role in potentially helping to repair Epstein’s reputation and perpetuate injustice, though he has denied any wrongdoing and there are no allegations of his participation in Epstein’s sex-trafficking crimes. The controversial ad strategy raises questions about HMP’s awareness of Hoffman’s past relationship with Epstein and the perceived consistency between his donation and the group’s messaging.
