GM Recalls Thousands of EVs for Critical Brake Failure Risk

General Motors is issuing a significant recall affecting approximately 67,000 Chevrolet Blazer EVs and Cadillac Lyriqs due to a potentially dangerous defect that can cause a loss of braking capability at low speeds. This critical issue, which poses a serious safety risk to drivers and passengers, stems from a problem that can unexpectedly disengage the vehicle’s braking system during low-speed maneuvers. To address this, GM is offering a free software update that will be deployed either remotely through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by visiting a dealership. The company is urging affected owners to seek this crucial update as soon as possible to restore the full functionality and safety of their electric vehicles.
