A year-long investigation into a missing infant has culminated in the arrest of a Florida couple, Leon Alejandro Jr., 21, and Samantha Feliz, 20, in North Carolina, accused of fabricating the existence of their child after a secret birth. Hollywood police began investigating in early 2025 when they learned Feliz may have given birth between December 2024 and January 2025, with the birth reportedly occurring outside a hospital and kept hidden. While family members initially saw the couple with the infant, the child vanished thereafter. Investigators believe the baby, identified as A.F., was last photographed on January 5, 2025, appearing visibly ill and malnourished with no signs of life. Despite extensive searches with cadaver dogs, the infant’s remains have not been located. Alejandro and Feliz allegedly denied the baby’s existence to relatives, claiming the pregnancy was a “prank” and later a “hoax” to scam money, despite photographic and text evidence confirming the pregnancy and the baby. Evidence recovered from a storage unit, including baby clothing and towels with blood, later tested positive for DNA belonging to the couple’s biological child. The pair now face charges including aggravated manslaughter of a child, tampering with evidence, and making false reports, after allegedly fleeing Florida and being apprehended in North Carolina.
