Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre disclosed the alarming incident, stating that the drone’s proximity posed a significant threat to the Ukrainian leader’s life. Moldovan authorities confirmed that two Russian drones were involved, leading to the temporary closure of the country’s airspace and a delay in Zelenskyy’s departure. One drone reportedly crashed in a field north of the capital, sparking a fire, while the other entered Romanian airspace. The incursions forced Chișinău International Airport to suspend operations, diverting flights and causing significant disruption. Moldovan President Maia Sandu condemned the drone activity as a grave danger to life, further highlighting the escalating security concerns in the region. Despite the near-miss, President Zelenskyy safely arrived in Oslo, where he engaged in discussions regarding crucial military and civilian aid, including air defense systems.
