State Department Backs Trump on France Protests, Calls Macron’s Comments ‘Unacceptable’

The State Department has publicly endorsed President Donald Trump’s critical assessment of the immigration situation in France, with a spokesperson telling Fox News Digital that Trump is “spot on” and that French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks about foreign leaders’ comments on the protests were “unacceptable and stupid.” Trump had previously stated that “migrants have taken over France” and that the country, once a “great nation,” is “being conquered, looted and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists and communists who hate Christianity” and “the Western civilization itself.” Macron, in turn, accused foreign leaders, including Trump, of making “stupid comments” amid alleged foreign manipulation and AI-generated images fueling the unrest, claiming that assertions of France being “invaded by hordes of migrants and Islamists” were false. In response, State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott reiterated Trump’s long-held stance on the dangers of mass migration, emphasizing that “mass migration is inherently destabilizing” and creates problems rather than solving them, a point Trump has consistently raised and addressed at international forums like the U.N. General Assembly. Pigott further stated that the U.S. has taken “concrete action to end the era of mass migration,” contrasting with the chaos seen in France where over 3,000 shops were looted and thousands were arrested during recent nationwide protests, leading to businesses boarding up windows and major museums closing.
