Screams of terror replaced cheers of excitement at Six Flags Over Georgia as a man fatally fell from the Goliath roller coaster Monday afternoon, leaving his family watching from below and other riders stranded high above. Eyewitnesses described a gruesome scene, with one rider recounting how the vehicle appeared to strike the man multiple times as he fell, before he was ultimately flung from the ride. The horrifying incident, which occurred around 4 p.m., stranded passengers on the coaster for about an hour with no immediate updates, while those on the ground witnessed the unfolding tragedy. The Cobb County Police Department confirmed a fatality, and Six Flags issued a statement expressing deep sadness and offering condolences to the victim’s family, while also temporarily closing similar attractions across their parks as a precaution, amid ongoing scrutiny over another roller coaster at their Magic Mountain park which has faced lawsuits alleging catastrophic brain injuries.
