An online jewelry listing on Facebook Marketplace tragically led to a late-night armed robbery in the affluent Tennessee city of Franklin, culminating in a police pursuit and the apprehension of three suspects. Authorities were called to a residence in northeast Franklin shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, where they discovered the robbery was directly linked to jewelry advertised for sale on the popular online platform. The suspects attempted to flee the scene but were quickly spotted by responding officers, initiating a vehicle pursuit that ultimately ended with all three individuals in custody. The arrested individuals, identified as Ivan Lagos-Espinoza, 22, and Jose Paiz-Godoy, 23, both from Nashville, and Rubel Rodriguez-Lisa, 19, from Lebanon, now face multiple charges including aggravated robbery, felony evading, and tampering with evidence. This incident serves as a stark reminder to online sellers, particularly those in high-value markets like Franklin, which is renowned for its wealth and luxury homes, to exercise extreme caution. Police are strongly advising buyers and sellers to conduct all transactions in public, well-lit areas with ample witnesses and surveillance, and for high-value items, to consider meeting at a police station or law enforcement facility to enhance safety and deter potential criminal activity.
