Southwest Airlines is dramatically expanding its tropical getaway offerings, announcing 11 new nonstop international routes set to launch in November. Travelers looking to escape to paradise will soon have more direct options, with service beginning from Las Vegas (LAS) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) on November 1st. The airline is also bolstering its presence from Nashville International Airport (BNA), introducing nonstop flights to Liberia in February 2027 and Aruba (AUA) in March. Notably, Nashville will also see new nonstop service to Nassau (NAS) and Providenciales (PLS) in June, with Southwest being the sole carrier for all four of these routes. Further expanding its international footprint, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will gain four new direct flights starting in June, connecting travelers to San José, Costa Rica (starting in March), Liberia, Punta Cana, and Nassau. Rounding out the new international destinations, Columbus (CMH) and Pittsburgh (PIT) will each receive direct flights to Punta Cana (PUJ) in March and June, respectively. This significant expansion signals a major push by the budget airline to capture a larger share of the lucrative tropical travel market, offering unprecedented connectivity for leisure travelers.
