While Starz’s 2025 Spartacus spin-off, House of Ashur, aimed to reimagine history by having the gladiator survive Mount Vesuvius, it ultimately failed to capture the magic of its predecessor and was canceled after a single season in May 2026. Fortunately for fans of ancient Roman warfare, a far more compelling and action-packed series is readily available on Prime Video, offering a superior viewing experience that has solidified its status as the best ancient Rome series in 16 years.
