A former collegiate swim champion from California, Legend Storer, 20, is facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly attacking a security guard at a Maui resort while naked. Authorities were alerted around 1:45 a.m. on August 5th when surveillance footage captured an unclothed man approaching the guard’s office at the Sands of Kahana condominium resort. The guard, Michael Dyer, 63, was found dead hours later, and investigators later linked the naked man seen wandering in a nearby neighborhood to the fatal assault. Storer, a Lahaina native and recent high school graduate who competed for Concordia University Irvine’s swim team, was apprehended with numerous abrasions and taken to the hospital before being charged with second-degree murder, first-degree burglary involving a dangerous instrument, and indecent exposure. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
