Ten years after Angie Barlow, 23, vanished after a joking text about going missing, her mother, Christina Kramer, remains locked in a desperate, unanswered plea for justice, with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office having provided no updates for approximately two years. Barlow disappeared on October 26, 2016, after texting her roommate she was heading to a private dancing gig at the Landmark Apartment and Townhomes, adding, “About to work this private party in case I go missing LOL.” Her remains were discovered nearly eight months later in an Indianapolis backyard, confirmed by her mother as a fatal shooting. Despite leads, including surveillance footage showing two vehicles leaving the complex around the time of her disappearance—one being Barlow’s and a black sedan following closely—the tinted windows prevented identification of the occupants. Barlow’s car, found miles away, was trashed and appeared to have been driven under a fence, suggesting a struggle or an attempt to conceal evidence. A female acquaintance who was present at the party with her boyfriend, and whom Barlow knew but wasn’t close with, allegedly made a chilling remark to Kramer months later, implying knowledge of Barlow’s final moments: “Oh, you want to know what her last words were.” This acquaintance has since denied the call and conversation. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department states the investigation is ongoing with a lead detective, but no criminal charges have been filed, leaving Kramer heartbroken and determined to be her daughter’s voice, refusing to be a victim and vowing to continue pressing authorities until her daughter’s killer is found.
