A New Jersey middle school computer teacher, Amanda Crafts, 35, has been arrested and subsequently fired following her alleged involvement in a shocking prostitution and robbery scheme at an Atlantic City casino hotel. The incident, which occurred on October 9th, involved Crafts and her acquaintance Veda Engel, 23, restraining a male victim, forcing sexual acts upon him, and then robbing him. According to court documents, the victim met the women at a hotel bar and later went to their room, where they allegedly stripped him, restrained him to the bed, and Engel performed sexual acts. Engel then reportedly used the victim’s facial recognition to unlock his phone and made four Apple Pay transactions totaling $1,250 to her account. Crafts, who claimed she was in the “wrong place at the wrong time” and had never been arrested before, stated she was a mother of four and taught computers in the school’s special area department. The school district confirmed the teacher’s termination, emphasizing their commitment to student safety. Engel, who has a history of prostitution-related charges, was also released on pretrial conditions along with Crafts.
