Heartbreaking Final FaceTime Call: Florida Dad Dies in Flash Flood

In a tragic turn of events, 34-year-old Joshua Bennett of Palm Bay, Florida, made a desperate, tearful FaceTime call to his wife, Stacy Petit Bennett, as his truck became submerged in rapidly rising flash floodwaters on San Filippo Drive. “He called me on FaceTime, and he was just crying, like, ‘I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to do,'” Stacy recounted, relaying her husband’s terrifying words as the water surrounded and engulfed his vehicle. She urged him to break a window as the call abruptly ended, leaving her to frantically contact 911 and spend agonizing hours awaiting news of her husband, an “amazing husband and dad” and father of four, including three children with special needs. Bennett’s death, one of two during the severe flooding in Brevard County, serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers of flash floods, leaving his young children asking for a father who will never return.
