The terrifying encounter began when Jeff Wilson investigated a single bark from Cassie, only to be blindsided by a bear that emerged from behind patio furniture and knocked him to the ground. The commotion roused Mallory, who was then also attacked by the animal. In a heart-wrenching moment, Cassie intervened, placing herself between the bear and her owners. The bear grabbed Cassie, attempting to drag her away, but the couple managed to scare the animal off, recovering their gravely wounded dog.
