In a direct challenge to what they term ‘anti-Israel propaganda’ and ‘fake narratives,’ Christian Zionist organization The Israel Guys has inaugurated a major visitors center in the West Bank town of Har Bracha. For nearly two decades, the group, formerly known as HaYovel, has brought over 5,000 volunteers from 35 countries to actively participate in developing the Land of Israel. CEO Joshua Waller asserts that their mission is to counter media portrayals of conflict by bringing international visitors to witness firsthand the flourishing biblical heartland, emphasizing that the narrative of ‘settler violence’ is deliberately fabricated to demonize Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria. The organization offers various volunteer programs, including the ‘Heartland Experience,’ ‘Grape Harvest,’ and ‘Men’s Pruning,’ designed to immerse participants in local life and agricultural work. These initiatives stem from a vision established by Tommy Waller, who, inspired by Jeremiah 31:5, founded HaYovel in 2007 to facilitate Christian volunteer efforts in Israeli agriculture. The Israel Guys have also expanded their advocacy through media projects like ‘The Joshua & Caleb Report’ and, since the October 7th Hamas-led attack, have raised significant funds for tactical supplies and community defense. Waller strongly refutes claims that Christians are unwelcome or unsafe in Israel, stating unequivocally that Israel is the safest place for Christians in the Middle East, with a growing Christian population, unlike surrounding Arab nations where Christians suffer immensely. Volunteers hail from diverse Christian denominations, and Waller believes aligning with biblical values can lead to a more peaceful future, asserting that any threat to Israel is an ‘information war’ they are committed to fighting by showcasing the reality on the ground and the fulfillment of biblical prophecy in the region’s transformation into a ‘Garden of Eden.’
