Emotionless Ex-NYPD Officer Charged in Brutal Jogger Stabbing

Sayed Mohassib, a former NYPD officer, appeared eerily emotionless as he was escorted in handcuffs from a Brooklyn precinct following his arrest for the brutal stabbing death of jogger Katie Suarez. Mohassib, 27, faces second-degree murder charges after Suarez, 28, was found stabbed multiple times along the Shore Parkway Greenway on October 30th. She was on the phone with her parents when the attack occurred, and they discovered her in critical condition before she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Mohassib reportedly told police he woke up covered in blood with no memory of the attack and admitted to discarding the murder weapon. Previously, he served briefly with the NYPD before leaving for the Marines, where he was deemed unfit for service, and most recently worked as a public school aide. The Department of Education has suspended him pending the outcome of the investigation, and authorities have yet to release a motive or confirm if Mohassib had any connection to Suarez.
