Schumer Accused of Orchestrating Yearlong Scheme to Plant ‘Decoy’ Candidate in Critical Senate Race

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., has leveled explosive accusations against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., alleging a yearlong conspiracy to manipulate the Alaska Senate race by recruiting a ‘decoy’ candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan, R-Alaska. According to Barrasso, operatives for Rep. Mary Peltola’s campaign and top aides from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) were involved in this intricate plot, designed to sow confusion among voters due to Alaska’s ranked-choice voting system and siphon votes away from the Republican incumbent. Barrasso characterized the alleged scheme as ‘criminal behavior to steal the Alaska Senate race’ and asserted that Schumer ‘schemed and colluded’ for over a year to deceive voters. While national Democrats have denied involvement and Peltola herself has stated she was unaware of other candidates beyond herself and the incumbent, Barrasso dismissed these claims, calling the Democrats ‘dirty, rotten scoundrels — cheaters’ and accusing them of cynically mocking Alaskan voters. The situation has already sparked legal battles and condemnation from other Republicans, including Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, who decried the alleged ‘ballot-stacking’ as a ‘pattern of lies and coverups’ that has no place in elections.
