Glowacz reportedly contacted authorities himself, seeking to ‘set things straight’ about Ellison’s death, and provided investigators with chilling details of the crime scene that had never been publicly disclosed. Ellison was found deceased in her Jacksonville home on December 28, 1987, with her infant child found crying nearby. Investigators at the time determined she had suffered blunt-force trauma, noting specific details like bloodied sheets, her head positioned under a pillow, and soot or ash on the bed consistent with a wooden log used as a weapon. During his confession, Glowacz allegedly admitted to entering the home during a burglary, striking Ellison with a wooden log after finding her and her baby, then moving the child to the living room. He further described searching for money by pulling Ellison’s body and lifting the mattress, details that precisely matched the original crime scene evidence and had not been released to the public. Investigators also discovered that Glowacz lived near the crime scene in 1987 and was arrested for an unrelated burglary on the same day Ellison’s body was found. He reportedly saw an article about the cold case in March 2026 and delayed his confession until after the holidays, leading to his arrest and formal charges of second-degree murder and armed burglary with assault or battery.
