A selfless Florida father, Daryl Hill, 56, was tragically gunned down Tuesday morning just moments after dropping his daughter off for her first day of elementary school, when he attempted to intervene in a violent roadside altercation. Witnesses reported seeing a man and woman, identified as Raul Lionel Vazquez and Kaidy Honaker, fighting inside a vehicle that subsequently crashed, spilling their brawl onto the street. Hill, described by his family as having ‘the biggest heart’ and a deep love for his fellow person, cycled upon the scene and attempted to de-escalate the situation, becoming involved in a physical struggle with Vazquez. After Hill broke away and attempted to flee, Vazquez retrieved a shotgun from his truck and fatally shot the 56-year-old father. Vazquez, who was out on bond for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at the time of the shooting, has been arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder, with his bond now revoked. Hill’s tragic death, while trying to help someone in distress, leaves behind his wife, two adult children, and his 10-year-old daughter, a devastating loss for a man remembered as a true Good Samaritan.
