Retired NYPD Detective Arrested for Fatal George Washington Bridge Road Rage Shooting

A retired NYPD detective, 62-year-old Victor Romero, has been charged with murder following a fatal road rage incident on the George Washington Bridge that resulted in the death of Con Edison worker Koran Irvine, 46. The shooting occurred Tuesday evening when Irvine, driving on the bridge, was struck by a bullet in his shoulder, subsequently crashing his vehicle and later succumbing to his injuries at Englewood Hospital. Romero, who left the NYPD 25 years ago, was reportedly driving a black Range Rover at the time of the incident. Irvine, described as a devoted family man and a dedicated employee celebrating 20 years with Con Edison, is mourned by his company and his family, for whom an online fundraiser has been established to support his wife and two children.
