Conservative Group Launches Massive Iowa Campaign to Expose Democratic Stance on Abortion

In a significant electoral push, one of the nation’s largest pro-life organizations, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA), has initiated an extensive ground game in Iowa, a crucial battleground state, aiming to expose what they describe as the ‘shocking’ abortion platform of the Democratic Party. The campaign involves over 172,000 door knocks and a substantial digital and PAC spending exceeding $2 million, targeting voters with information intended to highlight Democratic stances on abortion, particularly the opposition’s alleged support for late-term abortions and overturning existing pro-life legislation. SBA President Marjorie Dannenfelser emphasized the unprecedented scale of their voter contact program, noting that their field teams are engaging directly with voters, including those who may not typically align with conservative viewpoints. Field representatives report that many voters, regardless of their usual voting patterns, express surprise and shock upon learning about the Democratic candidates’ positions on abortion, suggesting a potential shift in voter sentiment. The organization’s strategy focuses on informing persuadable and low-turnout voters, believing that this education is key to influencing election outcomes in November, especially given polling that indicates a significant portion of Republican voters may disengage if the abortion issue is perceived as abandoned by the GOP.
