A disturbing case has emerged in Missouri where a former probation and parole officer, Jonathan G. Houston, 44, is accused of not only killing his wife, Aunika C. Houston, 37, but also forcing some of his seven children to participate in the horrific abuse and cover-up. The grim details surfaced when one of the children made a courageous 911 call from a hotel, whispering that her father had “captured” them and had a history of abuse. Deputies responding to the call found the children at a Kingdom City hotel. According to charging documents, one child revealed that Houston had strangled their mother approximately 10 months prior, with another child recounting that Houston had explicitly stated his intention to kill their mother. During the alleged strangulation, Houston reportedly forced one child to pour hot water on his wife’s legs and another to muffle her screams, while also locking three younger children in the bathroom and instructing the others to play loud music to mask the sounds of their mother’s suffering. Following the murder, Houston is accused of placing his wife’s body in a trash bag and disposing of it in a dumpster on the hotel property, with the victim never having been reported missing. Houston has allegedly confessed to the killing, admitting it was pre-planned. He faces charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping, with his children placed in protective custody. Authorities are also investigating Houston in connection with other alleged assaults.
