Gem Hunter’s ‘Glowing’ Find at State Park Could Be Worth Millions

Jack Pearadin, a dedicated gem hunter and Navy reservist, experienced a moment of pure elation and disbelief when he unearthed a stunning 6.03-carat golden-yellow diamond, which he has named the “American Dream,” at Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park. The remarkable discovery occurred on January 25th during a TikTok livestream as Pearadin processed gravel collected with his friend, Michael Schumacher. Despite challenging conditions following a winter storm, Pearadin spotted the gem “glowing” amidst the pile, exclaiming “I was shaking!” as he retrieved it from deep within. This find, with its unusual square shape, has generated significant excitement, with some collectors speculating its value could reach up to $1 million, while a certified gem appraiser suggests a high-quality six-carat yellow diamond from the park could fetch around $250,000. Pearadin, who has been searching the park since 2013 and even relocated to pursue his passion, plans to share profits with Schumacher and hopes to open his own crystal mine. The “American Dream” joins a string of notable diamond discoveries at the park this year, including a 3.09-carat diamond found by a woman grieving family losses and a 2.29-carat yellow diamond unearthed by a grandfather.
