A Dallas-area community college professor, Aaron Wood, 34, has been arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor via computer by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and messages on Snapchat to an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old boy. Wood, who taught drama at North Central Texas College (NCTC) for two years, reportedly engaged in an online conversation with an officer from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on May 22. During their interaction, Wood allegedly revealed he had been involved with students of similar ages and expressed nervousness but continued to chat with the undercover officer, even sending a picture of male genitals and other explicit messages while requesting to see the officer’s photos. Authorities were able to track Wood through the IP address used, leading to his arrest. NCTC confirmed Wood’s termination on Monday, stating that the alleged offense did not involve any school staff or students, and emphasized their commitment to the safety of their community.
