The sole juror who prevented a verdict in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has broken his silence, releasing a video statement to demand the public’s attention shift from himself to the three children Clancy is accused of killing. Michael Desronvil, who has been reportedly in hiding, stated, “I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels. The ones that can’t speak for themselves, the ones that can’t defend themselves, and the ones that can’t fight the battles — and those are Cora, Dawson and Callan.” Desronvil, who previously issued statements through his attorney and a YouTuber, also expressed gratitude for his Catholic faith, his ability to love his daughter, and the support he’s received, while his attorney vehemently denies allegations that Desronvil harbored reasonable doubts or refused to follow the law. This public plea comes amidst a heated exchange between Desronvil’s attorney and Clancy’s defense attorney, who has called Desronvil an “obstructionist juror” and is seeking an investigation into his conduct, while Clancy’s defense has filed motions to dismiss charges and also called for an investigation into other jurors. Prosecutors are expected to provide an update on plans for a new trial during a status conference.
