Williams admitted to exchanging nude photos, though he described it as not abnormal for his age and not a violation of his oath as he claimed the relationship began before he was mayor. While a police report indicated no criminal violations due to the student being of legal age in Georgia, Williams also acknowledged using city funds from his $5,000 reallocated budget for personal purchases, which he immediately repaid, attributing the confusion to the city purchasing card’s similarity to his personal one. He had made history as Georgia’s youngest mayor upon taking office in January after campaigning while attending Clark Atlanta University.
