Former Arkansas Governor and U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has sharply criticized rapper Macklemore, labeling him the “voice of Jew hatred” and expressing support for NFL owners who have canceled his performances. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Huckabee stated that his experiences living in Israel have convinced him that most criticisms against the nation are unfounded. He condemned Macklemore’s pro-Hamas stance, describing it as a support for acts of extreme violence, including rape, beheadings of babies, and the massacre of 1,200 people with 251 taken hostage by Hamas. Huckabee argued that while free speech is important, it does not grant immunity from consequences, asserting that stadium owners and concert promoters should not be expected to host events that endorse terrorism. This condemnation comes amidst reports of rising antisemitism, particularly in Canada, prompting Huckabee to also highlight a letter sent to former President Donald Trump by the National Association of Christian Lawmakers, urging action to help Jewish Canadians seeking to escape what he described as “extraordinary Jew hatred” and fear of violent attacks. Huckabee also touched upon the conflict in Yemen, suggesting Israel might offer assistance to Saudi forces against Houthi rebels, emphasizing Israel’s desire for improved regional relations and its role as a stabilizing force, not an aggressor.
