Wisconsin Republican gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany recounted a harrowing ordeal Saturday night when the small plane he was piloting lost power and made an emergency landing in Lake Wausau. “The pilot made an emergency water landing in Lake Wausau,” Tiffany stated on X, explaining that as the four-seat Bonanza began to submerge after losing power en route to Wausau Downtown Airport, he and the pilot were forced to exit the aircraft and swim to safety before rescuers arrived by boat. Both sustained only minor injuries and were transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where Tiffany expressed profound gratitude for the swift actions of the pilot and first responders, emphasizing the preciousness of life after the close call.
