Authorities in Louisiana are urgently searching for Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, a person of interest in a horrific series of stabbings that left four people dead and a child critically wounded, just months after he was previously accused of repeatedly stabbing a woman and locking her inside a motel room. The grim discovery unfolded when deputies responded to a call in the Ashland Drive area of Houma, finding a child with “extremely significant” injuries who was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital in critical but stable condition. As the search for the child’s attacker intensified, law enforcement made a devastating discovery in nearby homes, finding at least four deceased victims, whose identities and connections to the child or Solet have not yet been released. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the violence and whether multiple homes were targeted. This latest investigation casts a disturbing light on Solet’s past, as he was arrested in December 2019 for allegedly stabbing a 59-year-old woman multiple times in a Houma motel room, fleeing and locking the door behind him, leaving the victim in critical condition. He was also sought on a second-degree murder warrant in January 2019 related to the killing of Kemple Paul Scott Lovell. The current whereabouts of Solet remain unknown, and law enforcement is reportedly as stunned as the public regarding his previous release from custody, with questions arising about how these cases were handled. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively pursuing all leads and urges anyone with information regarding Solet’s location to come forward.
