He specifically criticized Donald Trump for not seriously addressing the debt crisis, suggesting Trump prioritizes popularity over fiscal responsibility. While acknowledging Trump’s past achievements such as border security, tax cuts, and deregulation, Good argued that on issues where Republicans have faltered, Democrats would be “even worse.” He believes the GOP’s current strategy of running on being “not as bad as Democrats” is insufficient to inspire voters and that a failure to drastically cut spending during their period of power was a missed opportunity. Despite his sharp criticisms of the current GOP direction, Good maintained that Democrats pose a greater threat due to their more extreme policies.
