A sophisticated teenage burglary ring, responsible for nearly 80 brazen break-ins across the Bay Area, has been dismantled following a months-long investigation that culminated in multiple arrests and the recovery of an estimated $250,000 in stolen property. Concord police revealed surveillance footage detailing the crew’s modus operandi: targeting parked vehicles in the early morning, using stolen garage door openers to access homes, and even brandishing firearms at residents. The spree involved the theft of numerous firearms, including 14 from a single garage, and multiple vehicles used to facilitate further crimes. The suspects repeatedly evaded law enforcement through high-speed chases and foot pursuits before detectives, collaborating with multiple agencies including the U.S. Marshals Service, identified and apprehended four juveniles. The investigation further uncovered an organized fencing operation, allegedly run by 37-year-old Wuillian Cordova-Cubias, who is accused of purchasing hundreds of stolen power tools, ATVs, forklifts, and firearms from the juveniles. A search of his Oakland residence yielded a massive haul of stolen goods, estimated to be worth a quarter-million dollars, leading to charges of receiving stolen property, firearm violations, and conspiracy. Prosecutors highlighted the success of their Organized Theft Unit in building strong cases against such operations, emphasizing accountability for those involved in the escalating trend of organized theft.
