Repeat Jewelry Thief Busted Less Than 24 Hours After Release, Police Say

In a brazen display of repeat offending, a 19-year-old California man was arrested for allegedly committing the exact same type of crime—a jewelry store theft—less than 24 hours after being released from jail on his own recognizance for similar charges. Andre Wiley, already on pretrial probation for burglary, conspiracy, and grand theft, is accused of teaming up with two other individuals to distract store employees while he allegedly stole two pieces of jewelry. Surveillance footage captured the alleged incident, showing the trio casually entering the store before their swift exit. Authorities quickly apprehended the suspects and recovered the stolen items, leading to the discovery of Wiley’s astonishingly short time out of custody. Detectives believe Wiley and his alleged accomplices may be linked to additional thefts and have released their booking photos, urging anyone with information to come forward.
